District Attorney Kim Ogg hosting educational webinar for crime victims
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office is hosting an educational webinar focused on helping victims of crime this Wednesday, April 27, at 11 a.m. The topic will be “Navigating the Criminal Justice System.”
“We are repeatedly reminded of the unfortunate fact that crime victims are the only participants in the criminal justice system who did not volunteer to be involved,” Ogg said. “That means they didn’t have time to prepare themselves before being forced to navigate a complex and lengthy process, so we created a webinar to help them understand every step of the way.”
This webinar come as part of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week in order to highlight resources for victims, challenges and lessons learned and what to expect during each phase of the criminal justice process.
“The information provided is geared to every person who is thrust into this system and is often left confused and frustrated,” Ogg said. “Please share this information and encourage your friends and anyone else you think could benefit to tune in for this very important educational session.”
