Felony Trial Bureau
The Felony Trial Bureau consists of the Homicide Division, Divisions that staff the 23 District Courts in Harris County and handle the vast majority of felony cases filed in Harris County, the Vehicular Crimes Division, the Juvenile Division and the Responsive Interventions for Change (RIC) Division. Prosecutors in the Felony Trial Bureau represent the State of Texas on behalf of the District Attorney in all cases assigned to the Bureau. The Trial Bureau handles the majority of Capital Murder and Murder cases as well as the majority of felonies filed by the District Attorney’s Office. The Felony Trial Bureau consists of a dedicated staff of over 200 Assistant District Attorneys, Investigators, Paralegals and administrators that handle over 40,000 felony cases per year.
