Harris County DA’s Office announces change in Communications Division leadership

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office bids farewell this week to one of its key employees. Director of Communications Dane Schiller, who devoted six years to keeping the public informed about our work, is leaving the office to pursue life abroad.
Joe Stinebaker will be our new Director of Communications. Stinebaker will oversee the Communications Division in assisting the news media to inform the public about the criminal justice system.
“I am so proud of the work that Dane and his team have done so the people of Harris County understand what we do here in the District Attorney’s Office to keep the public safe,” Ogg said. “I look forward to working with Joe to ensure a seamless transition.”
Stinebaker graduated with a journalism degree from the University of Missouri. He spent more than 25 years in newspaper journalism – the last 12 at the Houston Chronicle. Stinebaker later became Director of Communications for former County Judge Ed Emmett and for former Commissioner Jack Cagle.
